Rescued by the Rancher - Victoria James

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/25210937-rescued-by-the-rancher

Blame it on my roots but I'm a sucker for a good rancher/cowboy novel. This story of Meredith and Gage was so intriguing I never once caught myself thinking "when will this story be over". There were elements that were familiar for this type story, but I enjoyed Victoria James' presentation so much.  Here we have Meridith, a woman reclaiming her life and Gage the boy who never felt like he belonged. Mix them together and you have one dynamite couple. I especially enjoyed the retribution they both received in the end, right along with their happily ever after! Apparently I have been living under a rock, but now that I've discovered Ms. James I will definitely be checking out her other works!

Since Drew - J. Nathan

Andi Parker is a girl on a mission. She's an Olympic medal hopeful, until she's struck down by a car while out running. There were so many things I adored about this book. I had my suspicions something wasn't quite right with her and Drew's first hospital interactions. I love the way it all played out. This book had all the proper elements of a good romance. Angst, confusion, and a happily ever after. Out of tragedy sometimes comes our greatest joy. I've experienced this in my own life, and this book wonderfully illustrates how sometimes things happen the way they were supposed to. This was the first book I've read from J. Nathan and look forward to checking out her first book Until Alex.

Oh and I know it totally goes without saying, but the cover for this book... OH MY! :)

Conflict of Interest - Gillian Reese

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/25181603-conflict-of-interest

What a wonderful quick read. Avery and Trent were first loves. Trent was Avery's brothers best friend. Now they are both working for the same law firm after not seeing each other for six years. Trent is a wonderful book boyfriend character. The story flows nicely and I found myself slightly disappointed when the book ended! I would have liked more Trent/Jack conflict or even some more courtroom drama. This book is the perfect length for an afternoon reading on the beach!  Overall, very enjoyable book. Great story.

Sweet Girl - Rachel Hollis

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/23197082-sweet-girl

I think I have a new name for my favorite author list!

I enjoyed Party Girl, but Sweet Girl set the bar even higher. Max is a dynamic character. She is fiercely independent, incredibly talented, and haunted by past mistakes. This just described like at least 20 woman I personally know. That is one of the reasons I love this series so much. The characters feel real. It's easy to relate to them. One of my favorite lines in this book is when Max's mom says to her, "Leaning on another person and allowing yourself to be vulnerable sometimes is its own kind of strength".  This is so incredibly true and one of the hardest lessons to learn! The love interest in this book is also a sweet, believable character, the kind of guy you wished you could find for every single lady you know.  Friends make the best partners. Sometimes we rush over that step.

I hope Mrs. Hollis has a few more books up her sleeve! I think this will be a very successful series for her.

Okay, enough gushing. Go get the book!

Goodbye to you - AJ Matthews

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/24603756-goodbye-to-you

Thea meets Shay on her "Farewell to the Boobs Tour" in Key West, Florida. Due to her mother dying from cancer and her sister fighting cancer,  she elected to have a double mastectomy. I appreciated the humor in this book, although a serious subject, I found myself laughing at the characters antics. There were plenty of teary eyed moments in this book as well. Ms. Matthews did a wonderful job conveying the emotions of the characters, there were times I wanted to just hug Thea and others when I wanted to shake her. One of my favorite things about the book is that Shay is the shy, smart guy who gets the girl. I look forward to reading Mac's story.

Anne Marsh - Burns So Bad

https://www.goodreads.com/series/143258-when-seals-come-home

Who doesn't love a firefighter romance? Even better, an Ex-Navy SEAL turned firefighter romance.  This is the first in the When the SEALs Come Home series. The main characters Rio Donovan and Gia Jackson are both smoke jumpers who of course know they shouldn't have a relationship but do anyway. I am so glad they do too, this is a wonderful story of adversity and protectiveness and just being there for each other. I love that the leading lady Gia is a strong-willed competent woman, who works hard and takes care of herself.  Don't get me wrong, Rio is just the alpha male she needs. They make a perfect book couple.

I can't wait to read the rest of this series.  Also, I would like to note that it appears all five of the books in this series have been published, so no pesky waiting for the next installment to come out! Happy reading.
