Marked Men - Jay Crownover

Since my last post was about an entire series I thought I would follow that up with another series I absolutely love. Jay Crownovers Marked Men. This month book #5 in the series released, Rowdy.

My favorite by far in this series is the newly released Rowdy. However, they are all enjoyable reads that make me want to hop and plane and hang out in Colorado for a week or two. To me, nothing is more appealing than a tattooed bad boy with a soft heart, and although sometimes damaged and rough around the edges, the Marked Men certainly deliver in the ideal Book Boyfriend category.

Another great thing about this series is that it is not yet complete! Can't wait to see what Ms. Crownover has in store for Asa next year.

#1 - Rule
#2- Jet
#3- Rome
#4- Nash
#5- Rowdy
#6- Asa (To be released 2015)

Sea Breeze Series - Abbi Glines

There is a wonderful series by Author Abbi Glines called Sea Breeze. I mention it now because the last book, number 9 in the series, was just released. I feel this is noteworthy to mention because there are 9 books in the series, and I LOVED them all. I have never read a series with this many books and absolutely loved every single one of them.  I recently wrote this review on Goodreads:

I keep waiting for that Abbi Glines book where I'm like "eh it was okay". It has not happened yet and definitely not with this book! Abbi does an amazing job with Trish and Rock's story and giving us one more peek into the lives of our favorite Seabreeze characters. Excited to read future books by this fabulous author! (Until the End - Sea Breeze #9)

So if you are looking for a series that will suck you in and keep you entertained for hours and leave you wanting more. Then I highly recommend the Sea Breeze series. Now that they have all been published, I plan on ignoring my responsibilities one weekend to have a back to back reading marathon! I'm sure my husband will be delighted :)

Just One Thing
This is the first book I have read by Author Holly Jacobs. This was a wonderfully written book that had me crying like a baby. I usually try to avoid books that seem to have an emotional theme, but this one was so worth the tears! Lexie and Sam are wonderful characters that help to tell a story of healing and acceptance. Lexie a widow and mother, Sam a war veteran and bartender.  It is so true that none of us are defined by just one thing, but the compilation of a life time worth of moments and events.  Now that I have discovered Ms. Jacobs I look forward to reading more of her work!

If you are looking for a well written book, with a lovely story, this is it.

(Look mom my first review!).

So it's been a while - Book review, Review.

When I started a blog it truly seemed like a fabulous idea. I could write things down that were on my mind, people would read it and the world would be so much better for it. As you can see, that was over a year ago.

So I have a new BOLD idea. I am now thinking of making this a book blog. I read so much and although I rarely write a review on Goodreads or Amazon, I always give the authors stars. What I dislike about book reviews, is sometimes the reviewer just gets carried away. For example, when the reviewer gives a play by play of what happens in the book, and/or a detailed description of each character, this really annoys me. The publisher offers a synopsis of the book that gives us a basic idea of what the story is about, in order to entice us into reading the story. Why do I need to read your detailed description that lays it all out there, and then read the book? Thank you, now that you told me exactly what happens, no need to give the Author any of my money by purchasing and reading the book they spent countless hours on. You spelled it out in three paragraphs.

The second thing I dislike about book reviews is when people get downright mean. You don't have to love a book. In fact if you dislike it so much then how about you not review it at all. Give it one star and move on. I have read reviews that tear Authors to shreds, questioning their IQ and life worth. Now seriously people, who hasn't had a bad idea here and there. Once I wanted to be a singer, being off key this perhaps was not a logical plan, my family and friends very diplomatically told me this was a bad idea. I found a new dream and moved on. Just say this story wasn't for me and be done with it, online bullying is never cool!

With all of this said, if I do decide to review books I can guarantee a few things:

  1. I won't tell you in detail what happens in the story, I'll just give you my take on it. Did I like it? Was it well written? Do I recommend it? Basic review stuff.
  2. I won't be mean. I can't say with certainty that  I will like every book I choose to review, but I can say I will not be a jerkface about it!
  3.  I will try to keep it simple. Rambling is sort of my thing, so I will try to keep reviews short and to the point.
Alright, happy reading to you all.

Stay tuned!
